My soon to be published new novel, He might be still on Mars, is set in 2586. There’s nothing magical about that year, just that it’s about 600 year in the future. probably the same time period in The Expanse, the excellent TV series now on Amazon Prime. I have always been a big fan of the original James Bond novels and short stories by Ian Fleming. Several of these take place in Jamaica and the Caribbean. I am unsure but not many thrillers have put New Guinea and the Melanesian Islands at the heart of a story. A great many folks find writing difficult. I don’t but that’s because I have almost half a decades experience with writing. I think this is comparable to Malcolm Gladwell’s notion of 10,000 hours of practice. I’m having bariatric surgery this year. Are you a meticulous planner when writing or a seat of the pants writer? I was fortunate enough to have attended a workshop given by William Bernhardt who is a meticulous planner when writing novels. Part of that process was sketching out each chapter on cards, or more latterly on an Excel Spreadsheet.
